Basefolio

For investors, family offices and the firms that serve them

Documents in. Everything done.

Add the statements, capital calls, term sheets and PPMs you already receive. Basefolio keeps your portfolio current, puts what needs you on one screen, and sets what you're considering against what you hold.

What do you invest in?

You add

What you hold, once.

  • A bank statement, a trade confirmation or a spreadsheet of positions
  • Statements from every bank you use

You see

Each company, read for you.

  • Each morning: which shares moved unusually, and why
  • Each company's latest results in a line
  • Each results call in five lines, and promises set against what was delivered
  • Management records, filings, the portfolio map

Time saved

The morning trawl for why a share moved, and the first listen to every results call.

  • Across every company you hold, at once
  • Ask one question across every company's calls

See every equities screenAlso covers structured products and funds, if you hold them.

You add

Term sheets and bank statements.

  • Each note's term sheet, read once
  • Statements and coupon advices from every bank

You see

Every note, against its barrier.

  • Where each note stands and what its next date decides
  • This week's notes, ranked by money at risk
  • The next 90 days at today's prices
  • Exposure by bank, and a fall of 20% tested

Time saved

The barrier spreadsheet, and the check before every observation.

  • Coupons received set against expected, without the bank's PDF open
  • "Had you bought this since 2016" before you buy the next one

See every structured products screenAlso covers equities and funds, if you hold them.

You add

The papers your managers send.

  • Capital calls, distribution notices and quarterly statements
  • PPMs and LPAs for the funds you're considering
  • Hedge fund statements and offering documents

You see

Every fund, current to the last paper.

  • Each call checked against the bank details before it
  • Each quarter bridged; IRR, TVPI and DPI from your own cash flows
  • Votes, consents, key-person and redemption deadlines in To act on
  • A committee Compare that leads with the record

Time saved

Re-keying statements, checking calls by hand, and the first read of every PPM.

  • Across many families, each with its own portfolio

See every funds screenAlso covers equities and structured products, if you hold them.

A fictional demo client. Listed companies are real; their moves, results and call wording on this page are illustrative.

Equities

A hundred companies, read for you every day.

Each holding is read from your own bank statements, across every bank you use. From then on, every move, results call and filing of every company you own is read and brought down to the facts: what moved, what was reported, what was filed.

Which of your hundred companies needs you today?

Saves the results-season morning trawl. Every headline and every call is read for you, and what was reported is ranked by the money you have on each company.

Before

Each bank's statement is pasted into its own tab once a month, so until month end nobody knows the whole book: how many shares, at which bank, worth what. Meanwhile 34 research notes and 11 results calls a week arrive about companies the sheet can't yet add up.

After

Then

Today's move, with its reason

Saves the morning trawl for why a share moved. Only moves unusual for that share are marked.

Each results call in five lines

Saves the first listen to every call. Five lines, each opening the words it came from.

Management records

Saves a hand-built file on each chief executive. Each line opens what it came from.

Filings

Saves watching each company's filings. Each one is listed under its company as it arrives; routine ones fold into one line.

Every holding from your bank statements, bank by bank

Saves reconciling statements by hand. The same stock at two banks is two holdings, each labelled with its bank; one bank's statement never overwrites the other's.

The portfolio map, metric strips and your book at a glance

Saves the spreadsheet that puts every holding on the same measures, and adding up what notes add to each company.

Ask across every call

Saves reading a dozen transcripts for one answer. Ask reads every results call of every company you hold, and your own documents.

Listed companies are real; the moves, results, wording and figures on these screens are illustrative.

Structured products

Every note, against its barrier, every day.

The term sheet is read once. From then on, each underlying share is followed against its barrier and its autocall level, across every issuer and every bank that holds your notes.

Which notes need a decision this week, and how does a new offer sit against what you hold?

Saves the Monday rebuild of the barrier sheet, and checking a new offer against everything you already own.

Before

Spots are pasted in every few days, so each distance to barrier is only as fresh as the last paste. Notices from four banks arrive in four formats, each matched to its row by ISIN; one note in the sheet was redeemed on Wednesday. Then a new offer arrives, and the same work starts again for it.

After

Then

Where each note stands against its barrier

Saves the barrier spreadsheet. Every share in every note, measured each day, the worst one named.

What each date decides

Saves rereading the term sheet before every observation date.

The 90-day strip

Saves a calendar of every date across every issuer, and what each would do.

Bank exposure and stress

Saves rebuilding issuer exposure by hand, and guessing which notes a bad month would hurt.

Coupons received against expected

Saves opening each bank's advice to check a coupon arrived, and for the right amount.

Notes and issuers are fictional; listed companies are real. Figures on these screens are illustrative.

Funds

Every fund current to the last paper, for every family.

Private equity, private debt and hedge funds, from the calls, notices and statements your managers send. And for the funds you're considering, a committee view from the PPM and LPA.

Capital calls, with the bank details checked

Saves comparing every notice with the last one before you pay. Only a change stops you.

The quarterly bridge

Saves re-keying each statement and checking it adds up. A quarter that doesn't roll forward is the only one marked.

IRR, TVPI and DPI from your own cash flows, and what's unfunded

Saves the quarter-end spreadsheet. Returns are worked out from your calls and money back, so they're yours, not the manager's.

Key-person, consent and redemption deadlines

Saves reading every GP letter for the one sentence that asks something of you, and missing a hedge fund's notice window.

Look-through

Saves collecting portfolio company lists from every report to see where the money really sits.

Screening: 24 funds' papers, read into one table.

Saves the first read of every deck, PPM and DDQ, and typing each one into a sheet.

Before

The tracker waits on each GP and breaks when one hasn't reported. Each new fund arrives as a data room of 40 files, opened one by one and typed into a sheet. Three funds in, 21 to go.

Kinlaw Capital III: the PPM lists Elsbeth Moerman as a key person (p. 22), and your Fund II letter for Q3 2026 says she left on 30 Sep 2026. Who replaces her, and does the key-person clause apply? Why: the papers don't say who replaces her.

The committee Compare, record first

Saves the first read of every PPM before a committee: track record deal by deal, who left the team, then fees and what a commitment does to your portfolio. Shaded rows are worked out by Basefolio.

Whatever you commit to, Portfolio holds it together: calls, money back, what's unfunded, look-through.

Funds, managers and people are fictional; figures are illustrative.

And it also covers

Hold more than one kind? It's the same portfolio.

For every portfolio

Documents in, everything done. Never silently wrong.

Whatever you hold, the work of getting documents into the portfolio is Basefolio's, and so is checking the figures before they count.

Documents in, everything done

Saves all the re-keying. Add documents in Portfolio for what you own, or in Decide for what you're considering. Nothing to file.

PDFExcelCSVScanned images

Never silently wrong

Saves double-checking the figures yourself. Documents are read automatically, every total is worked out by fixed rules, and Basefolio asks one plain question only when figures don't agree.

Fix it where you see it, with Undo

Saves hunting for where a figure came from. Every figure from your documents opens its page; a correction shows before and after, and can be undone.

Families, and access per person

Saves keeping separate files per family and per adviser. One account, each family its own portfolio, each person seeing only theirs.

The operator view: we watch every upload

Saves chasing support about a stuck file. Our team sees every upload and whether it was read, so a document that didn't read is picked up on our side.

Try it

Click a number. See the line it came from.

A figure read from your documents opens its page with the figure marked. A figure Basefolio calculated shows the calculation. Market and public data show the figure alone.

Questions

How are my documents handled?

You add them in Basefolio. They are read automatically to keep your portfolio current, and each figure keeps the page it came from. Basefolio never connects to your bank or custody accounts. Your portfolio and documents are hosted in the EU.

What formats can I send?

PDF, Excel and CSV files, and scanned images. A spreadsheet of positions works as well as a bank statement.

What does onboarding look like?

You send a handful of recent documents: a statement, a capital call, a term sheet. We go through your first portfolio with you. After that, new documents are added as they arrive, and a mistake is fixed on the page where you see it, with Undo.

Who owns the data?

You do. Any table exports to Excel, and you can ask us to export or delete everything, subject to legal retention and normal backup expiry.

Do I have to set up rules or criteria?

No. Rules of your own are optional and off to start. Basefolio works without them.

Is this investment advice?

No. Basefolio provides software and information services. It does not provide investment advice, arrange investments or hold money.

Security and trust

Your documents stay yours.

Basefolio reads documents. It never connects to your accounts.

No custodian logins

Nothing to grant and nothing to revoke. Basefolio works only from what you send.

Each client kept separate

Each client's portfolio and documents are kept apart.

Access per person

Each colleague sees only the families they're given, enforced on every page, document and export.
